NFL Week 1

Wow, did the Saints every get smoked in Indy. The pure domination Indy showed was surprising, and if the first game is any indication, they should be a force all year long.

Our Pick
Saints to cover

Result

Indy won and covered

THE REMAINING GAMES

Eagles -3.0 @ Packers

The Packers have nothing for a running game, and the Brett Favre has little options to drive the Packers offense. Donovan McNabb is back, and the Eagles should handle the Packers with ease.

Our Pick Result

Eagles to cover Packers won

Titans @ Jaguars -7.0

With Vince Young at the helm, the Titans could surprise in this one. The Jaguars played well at home last year, look to continue that this week.

Our Pick Result

Jaguars to cover Titans won

Patriots -6.5 @ Jets

The Patriots have won 6 in a row in New York against the Jets. With the absence of Rodney Harrison, the Pats will be in tough, on the road, against the Jets. Look for this one to be low scoring, and while we think the Pats should win, the Jets will cover.

Our Pick Results

Jets to cover Jets did not cover

Steelers -4.5 @ Browns

With Big Ben back and healthy, and the Browns looking like the Browns of old, look for the Steelers to dominate the ground game and beat the Browns in Cleveland.

Our Pick Result

Steelers to cover Pittsburgh won and covered

Broncos -3.5 @ Bills

This one really could go either way. Both teams have many new, inexperienced faces, that depending on how they play when the games count for real, will greatly effect the outcome of this game. When the game looks really close, take the team that more often then not wins at home, and the Bills almost always play very well at home.

Our Pick Results

Bills to cover Bills covered

Falcons @ Vikings -3.0

The mess that Michael Vick has left behind leaves little reason to go with the Falcons in this one. Joey Harrington does not instill much confidence in the Falcons offense, and the Vikings D was #1 against the run last season, and have most of the key players back. Look for the Vikings to win by a touchdown.

Our Pick Results

Vikings to cover Vikings won and covered

Dolphins @ Redskins -2.5

The Redskins were brutal on defense last year, giving up about 355 yards per game. Look for the Redskins to improve on that (I know, not that hard). The Dolphins have been in shambles for a few years now, and all signs point to another mediocre season from the Dolphins.

Our Pick Result

Redskins to cover Redskins won by 3 and covered (note, line changed to -3 by kickoff)

Chiefs @ Texans -3.0

The Chiefs have a patch work offense, and a patch work defense, which leads to a very long season for the Chiefs. The Texans have a new QB in Matt Schaub, and have what, on paper anyways, looks to be a potent offense, especially against a week Chiefs D.

Our Pick Result

Texans to cover Texans won and covered

Panthers @ Rams -1.0

The Rams look to be very good on offense this year, and only being favored by a point looks like a can't miss pick in this one.

Our Pick Result

Rams to cover Carolina won

Bears @ Chargers -6.0

Coming off a showing in the Super Bowl, it is hard to go against the Bears. Rex Grossman is.. well Rex Grossman, and the Chargers should be able to put some points up at home against a less dominate Bears defense.

Our Pick Result

Chargers to cover Chargers won and covered

Detroit @ Oakland -1.5

As much as it pains us, going with the Raiders this week appears to be the way to go. The Lions have been brutal for years, and have done little to change that trend this year. The Raiders will be bad, just not as bad.

Our Pick Results

Raiders to cover Detroit won

Tampa @ Seattle -6.0

Seattle should dominate at home in this one. Seattle to cover.

Our Pick Result

Seattle to cover Seattle won and covered

NY GIANTS @ Cowboys -6.0

Which T.O. will show up this year? With Romo and T.O. clicking (so far anyways) look for the Cowboys to win, and cover.

Our Pick Result

Cowboys to cover Cowboys won and covered

Baltimore @ Bengals -2.5

Tough to argue with Baltimores D, especially against the Bengals offense, which looks suspect at best.

Our Pick Result

Baltimore Bengals won

Arizona @ S.F. 49ers -3.5

The Cardinals look like a team on the rise, and the 49ers are a year or two away from doing any serious damage. Look for the Cardinals to cover.

Our Pick Result

Arizona Arizona covered

Well, Week 1 is in the books, and we fair pretty average thus far. Week 1 is always tough. It is always interesting to see how teams fair once the games start to count. Check back soon for Week 2 picks. Our stats thus far are: 9-7
